Household living-costs price indexes – decisions after public consultation

Household living-costs price indexes – decisions after public consultation  presents decisions we've made about developing a new set of  price indexes to measure the inflation experience of groups of households – household living-costs price indexes (HLPIs).

The decisions follow public consultation on three topics:

  • how we define the household groups
  • how we combine household expenditure patterns
  • how we treat interest and insurance.

See Household-living costs price indexes – public consultation paper  for details on the questions we asked in the consultation and background information.

See Household living-costs price indexes: Background for information on the new set of price indexes that have been developed.
