Education and health industry productivity 1996–2011

Education and health industry productivity 1996–2011 presents the first set of official estimates of productivity for New Zealand’s education and training, and health care and social assistance industries.

Labour, capital, and multifactor productivity (MFP) growth rates for the education and training and health care and social assistance industries cover the period 1996–2011.

These statistics expand the suite of official industry-level productivity statistics, and build on recommendations made in Measuring government sector productivity in New Zealand: a feasibility study.

Tables 1.1 to 1.7  and 2.1 to 2.7 show productivity in the education and training industry; and health care and social assistance industry, respectively:
