2016 Tokelau Census of Population and Dwellings
The 2016 Tokelau Census of Population and Dwellings was held on 18 October 2016. The Office of the Council for the Ongoing Government of Tokelau and Statistics New Zealand have worked together on the 2016 Tokelau Census.

About the 2016 Tokelau Census

The Tokelau census provides a unique source of detailed information on the demographic, social, and economic make-up of Tokelau’s population. Some subjective quality of life measures such as overall life satisfaction were collected for the first time.

This census the collection model was significantly different from the previous Tokelau censuses. For the first time ever, tablets were used to collect the data, improving data quality and making Tokelau the first nation in the Pacific to collect data for the census in this way.
