Provisional release affected by lower response
The 2022 provisional agricultural production census is based on data from 67 percent of expected respondents, a lower response rate than usual (in the 2017 census it was 84 percent). This has impacted on the accuracy of the release, compared with previous years.
Stats NZ will continue to work with respondents and stakeholders to process and analyse data received since mid-November 2022, and to better understand the quality of all the data for the final agricultural production statistics release, which will be published on 5 May 2023.
