The information and communication technology supply survey collects sales data from New Zealand businesses that are involved in producing or supplying information and communication technology (ICT) software and services.

Key facts
In 2019 compared with 2017:
- sales of ICT software and services were worth $9.8 billion, up 31 percent
- sales of published software rose 49 percent to $3.1 billion
- sales of IT services increased 24 percent to $6.8 billion
- exports of IT software and services were 21 percent of the total sales of ICT software and services, up from 19 percent.
Note: The ICT supply survey does not measure imports of ICT software and services to New Zealand.

Diagram shows the sales of ICT goods and services in 2019. Total sales of ICT software and services rose 31 percent from 2017 to reach $9,849 million in 2019. Total export sales of ICT software and services rose 47 percent from 2017 to reach $2,084 million in 2019. Published software exports rose 70 percent from 2017 to reach $976 million in 2019. Export sales of IT services rose 31 percent from 2017 to reach $1,108 million in 2019. Total domestic sales rose 27 percent from 2017 to reach $7,766 million in 2019. Domestic sales of published software rose 41 percent from 2017 to reach $2,123 million in 2019. Domestic sales of IT services rose 23 percent to reach $5,642 million in 2019.
